Hey hackers! We will be getting together this August for a Cyberdeck Build-a-Thon. You don't need to have coding skills to participate.
Our theme is a hacker version of Scrapyard Wars. Here is the schedule:
- Start the day at Swapfest. Each team has $10 budget and 30 minute timer to buy stuff. There is lots of free and underpriced stuff at swapfest so $10 will go far.
- We all reconvene and head to a makerspace. Maybe Cambridge Hackspace, maybe somewhere else.
- Build! Use 3d printers and the materials you bought at swapfest. Some people can do CAD, some people can install and make custom software, some people can paint or add decorative things.
- Judge. Whoever has the coolest cyberdeck wins.
