When people come to Coimbra the main areas they visit are Baixa and Alta, and with good reason. There are ancient walls from Roman times and esplanadas for sitting and enjoying coffee. There's a certain energy to all the people walking on the main street, but what about the newer neighbourhoods of Coimbra?

Our friend Fate will take you on a mini-food and walking tour of our seemingly normal neighbourhoods of Coimbra. Between Solum and Norton de Matos, you'll be following a route (walking and riding the Metrobus) of four eateries, and you'll have a chance to share several items in each place. Fate, as you may already know, loves food, "with a special bias towards spicy food," she would say, and exploring what's in the neighbourhoods. She'll have strong recommendations in each place you'll visit, so you can simply enjoy the ride.

But that's not all. Kristen, who loves history and nosing around in the past, will be sharing a bit about how Solum and Norton de Matos looked like in the last century. Look past Baixa, there's more to see.

We're asking participants to MBway Kristen €15 in advance to reserve your spot. At the end of the tour we'll split everything equally. You may have to MBWay a few euros more, so we ask that you have MBWay setup and ready (or some extra coins).

We're going to use the Metrobus so please be prepared to buy a Metrobus card and bring coins for the machines.
